COMMISSIONS

Commissions recently completed are shown below. Since images speak directly to our hearts, icons speak to many people. They embody the tenets of Christian faith as well as history and help to teach and remind of us important spiritual principles. Using traditional materials of pure pigments and 23k gold leaf gilding, I create beautiful icons for many churches nationally and internationally as well as for private collectors.

Remember, it takes time to create icons- gathering materials, drawing, planning, painting, shipping- so many factors go into when an Icon can be completed. So, please bear this in mind when considering a commission for your home or church. I do have a large body of completed icons, that can be shipped fairly quickly. Feel free to contact me with your requests.

HOW TO COMMISSION AN ICON

·       To commission an Icon: email Christine with the idea or image that you would like. You can share photos or other examples of icons that are close to what you are looking for.

·        Decide on the size and share photos of the wall or room where the icon will be hung, discuss possible sizes and mediums. Share budget considerations. Once the project description is cleear, Christine will send a proposal with item line expenses and costs. Once agreed upon, work begins with a deposit of 50%.

·       Once the drawing is complete, the painting begins! Christine will email progress photos of the Icon, then, once completed, will send a photo of the completed icon.

CALIFORNIA, 2023: “The icons arrived in good shape and they are just wonderful.  I can not be more pleased and grateful that God has bestowed such a marvelous gift upon you and that you use it to give Him Glory through the images that you write of the Lord, His Blessed Mother and all the Holy Saints and Angels. Be assured that I will sing your praises whenever someone asks by whose hand it was wrought.  Blessings to you and keep up the great work!  Fr. Patrick

Saint Patrick Icon

Saint Patrick

Known as the patron saint of Ireland, he holds a remarkable story that captivates the hearts of believers and non-believers alike. Born in 5th-century Roman Britain, Patrick was captured by Irish raiders at a tender age and carried away to Ireland as a slave. During his six years of captivity, he found solace in his faith and eventually heard a divine voice that guided him to freedom.

After returning to his homeland, Patrick felt a deep calling to spread the teachings of Christianity among the pagan tribes of Ireland. Despite facing numerous challenges and even threats on his life, Patrick fearlessly devoted himself to his mission and tirelessly traveled across the Emerald Isle, baptizing converts and establishing countless churches and monasteries. His most renowned act, perhaps, was using the three-leafed shamrock as a visual aid to explain the concept of the Holy Trinity. Saint Patrick's unwavering faith, resilience, and boundless love for the Irish people make him an enduring symbol of Christian devotion and forgiveness.

In this icon are scenes from the life of Patrick all around the borders. Fr. Aidan, who commissioned the icon, shared all these stories to be added to the icon. It was a great collaboration!
