Greetings! Holy Cross Monastery in West Park, NY, was looking absolutely beautiful in May when we had our Icon writing retreat there, creating spring time Icons of the Madonna. The apple trees were blossoming and the fresh new green of grass and shrubs gave promise to the beautiful summer it will be.

Next Icon Class at Holy Cross
The next Icon class I will be teaching is also at Holy Cross, July 16-19. The topic will be “Color and Light in the Icons” and I will demonstrate some classic Icon paint mixing techniques. There are still a couple of spaces, hope you can join us.
Call the guesthouse to reserve space: 845-384-6660 or click here.
I’m finishing up a large, 60 x 48″ Icon of The Confession of Saint Peter for an Episcopal Church in Ohio. Below are some work in progress photos:
Icon Class in Palm Beach, Florida, September 26-28

We will be writing an Icon of the Archangel Michael and we have a couple of spaces still open. Come to Florida for an Icon class!!! Email me to register. (Christine@newchristianicons.com)
American Association of Iconographers Blog
Lastly, I just want to mention that the monthly blog of the American Association of Iconographers will come out May 29, just in time for Memorial Day! It will have an article written by an Iconographer who lives and works in Mexico- Mary Jane Miller, and it is about her thoughts concerning Icons of Mary. You won’t want to miss it, just check your in-boxes at the end of May.
Sending prayers and blessings to you all,
Christine Simoneau Hales
