C.S. Lewis Icon

Andrew Lazo, CS Lewis Scholar and Father Charleston Wilson blessing the New CS Lewis Icon

Sunday, November 22, the lesser feast Day of CS Lewis, the recently completed new icon commissioned by CS Lewis scholar, Andrew Lazo was blessed at Church of the Redeemer, Sarasota, Florida, by Father Charleston Wilson. This is an original icon and took many weeks and many, many drawings to arrive at the final image- CS Lewis sitting in his armchair in his library, holding his beloved pipe with Aslan standing vigilantly beside him.

Prints Available of Recently Completed Commission

I’ve made this icon available on my print website, christinehalesicons.com, where it can be printed in a variety of sizes and on paper, wood, or canvas. There are several other recently commissioned icons as well as many saints and scriptural icons available as prints on this site, also.

It’s been a very busy fall, creating two online icon painting classes that have been very popular. They are held live on Zoom, then recorded for playback on a learning platform called Thinkific. These classes are also available as recordings and many students have benefitted from the flexibility a pre-recorded icon painting class affords.

Next Online Icon Painting Class January 19-22, 2021

The next online icon painting class will be January 19-22, 2021. The classes are in egg tempera with gold leaf gilding and for this one we are painting the face of Christ, based on the Andrei Rublev icon. Click here to register.
